Francisca Scharpé studied Slavonic languages and literature in Ghent, Berlin and Saint-Petersburg and Law in Strassburg and Brussels. She was admitted to the Brussels’ Bar in 2007 and started her career as attorney at NautaDutilh, one of the largest independent full-service law firms in the Benelux.
Moving over to an in-house role in 2010, she became the regional general counsel of a multinational S&P 500 company located in Switzerland, overseeing all legal and compliance matters in Europe. In addition to her role as General Counsel Europe, she took responsibility for the design and implementation of the company’s global data privacy program in 2017 and became the lead lawyer for the company’s global digitalization, information security and data governance programs, leading legal professionals in Europe, China and the US. Since October 2023, Francisca applies her profound experience in IT sourcing and outsourcing, privacy and digitalization as Counsel at HÄRTING, where she advises Swiss and international clients in these matters.
